7. How long does an appraisal take?
For the appraisal of a single piece of jewelry, you should allow about one-half to three-quarters of an hour. Much will depend on the complexity of the piece and how many questions you may have.
As a general rule, add about 15 to 20 minutes for each additional item. In most cases, your report will be printed while you are here. For appraisals of multiple items or those items requiring research, your report will be mailed to you within a day or two.
